About
Originally from the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, I moved to West Dorset (equally beautiful) in the 1980s. My working life began as a potter making sgraffito decorated earthenware (drawing through one layer of clay to reveal the different body colour underneath).
The drawing of the image became more important to me than the making of the pot, so I went back to college to study illustration, whilst working part time as a gardener. Freelance illustration work followed, mainly book and editorial publishing and some advertising.
I now paint just for myself, my inspiration coming from the countryside where I live and gardens - I love them! Recently I have been working more in oils and also enjoy using gouache, particularly for on site painting.
